Following two weeks of virtual meetings, the World Sailing Annual Conference concluded with two days of council meetings on October 30 and 31, 2020.

On recommendation of the Equipment Committee, Council approved the application of the IKA Youth Foil Class for World Sailing status, granting the young one-design hydroil class the rights to hold World Championships.

The inaugural Worlds are scheduled for 19-25 July 2021 in Hang Loose Beach, Gizzeria, Italy - a famous spot for kiteracing competitions. The event will be held together with the (Olympic) Formula Kite Youth U19 Individual World Championships.
